Turkey's are out of season right now, but the butcher at the grocery store had a few tucked away just in case. Lucky us!! He brined the bird overnight.
Once the turkey was covered up it had to stay covered until it was done, so we all huddled around to watch him open the lid. My mom is pointing to the two turkey's in the picture. She makes me laugh.
Look at that beauty!
Logan surprised us all and drove down from Flagstaff to partake of the deliciousness!
The kids at in the back, squatting on a sheet like little neanderthals.
We all got three stickers and got to vote on who had the best captions. My mom and Whitney won, no surprise there.
And Elle won the Tootsie roll game, 107 tootsie rolls
My mom read the grandkids a book. That is one of my favorite memories of her as a child. She used to read Ms. Piggle Wiggle books to us. I LOVED it!
And Grandpa got a big attack of thank you's from the grandkids for buying them all McFlurry's.
It was a pretty great evening for everyone!!

The end of winter doesn't have quite the same charm when you know what's coming in a Phoenix summer. Thinking about seasons at all mixes me up since we're backwards here and I always have to translate :)
