Fourth of July at the Cabin

Last Monday Tim worked until 3pm. I got the kids and the van all loaded up, Tim came home and we realized that our sprinklers had a major leak...ack!! After taking a few minutes to asses the problem, Tim decided to turn the water off (dehydrating our grass for a number of days) and we headed up to the cabin and "cooler" weather.

The kids spent the week dirty, wet and having a blast. They would play down at the creek for hours. Then come up and get some food, play kick the can, play upstairs, get more food, and then repeat. It was warm up there, but cooler than Phoenix and the kids loved being outside in the fresh air. We had a great time!

Sleeping is never that great at the cabin. Here you have Peter and Molly sleeping on the mattress that Tim and I slept on. I'm pretty sure this was before we went to bed, so they got moved. But you better believe that someone ended up in bed with us almost every night....not to mention the baby in my belly that sleeps with me every night ;)

Fourth of July photo opt! I love seeing all these cute kids in red, white, and blue!

The cabin is such a great place to celebrate the beauty of America!! Love my beautiful family and this awesome country.

All the girls. We are definitely out numbered, but we are not to be messed with ;)

Water games!! We also had a pretty great water balloon fight.

Shucking corn.

These two and their giant personalities!! It'll be so fun to watch this relationship evolve. Right now Molly is still just a baby to Piper.

Ready for their Flag parade.

LOVING her S'more.

Volleyball on the lawn

Creek explorer

Dabbing on the creek.

Sparklers

For everyone.

Getting a picture with all three of them seems impossible. These were not the best sparklers and as soon as I'd get one lit, another on would go out. So individual shots it was.

Molly LOVES Grandpa!!

Cousins!!

All day, every day!

Whit brought stuff for the kids to make their own puffy paint shirt. They thought it was the best thing ever!! They were so excited to wear their shirts the next day. And I think they all did a pretty great job!

Peter was super into catching dragon flies the entire trip. Unfortunately I'm not totally confident that very many made it after he caught them, but it made him very happy.

Mid-day trip to Dairy Queen.

Getting in line to get s sip of Diet Coke from grandma.

Cody and Whit and their families left on Friday and we stayed until Saturday. These two were super happy to have another day up there and worked on their swinging skills.

We finished a Peter Pan puzzle which was lots of fun.

Molly helped Tim and my dad patch up some of the patio.

And the kids had one last otter pop before we headed home.

It was a great week and marked the summer being more than halfway over. How is that even possible?!?!
