Memorial Day 2017

At the risk of sounding totally ridiculous, this last weekend was maybe the best Memorial weekend....EVER!! It was just on point! I had so much fun! The kids had so much fun! It was just the perfect way to start the summer.

We left for the cabin Thursday evening (school got out earlier that day). And the kids were giddy as soon as we got there and met up with cousins. We spent the weekend playing games(do you love your neighbor with the kids was the best), exploring, throwing rocks in the creek, playing in the creek, eating an obscene amount of food, and relaxing.

Our first morning there. Cream of Wheat, fruit, half and half :) and my moms delicious biscuits. They are seriously sooooo good!!

My dad and Logan laid out this wonderful walk and cemented it in.

The cement won't be as bright as it dries :) My dad and brothers, Tim and Chris have put a ton of time into the cabin this spring making things look great after we had new holding tanks for the septic system put in.

This girl loved the cabin! She was so happy to be outside in the fresh air, walking around and she got a sucker!! Life doesn't get any better for a one year old!

Sitting with my favorite man!

Molly really really really wanted to get in the creek and then decided within two seconds that the water was freezing and that she wanted out asap!

The Layton's brought a really fun game called Wet Head that the kids loved playing.

The kids are all getting old enough that we are starting to feel comfortable letting them jump rocks and explore without us right on their tales the entire time. And Oliver and Peter loved it!

Peter did a lot of his "rock jumping" by crawling from rock to rock on all fours. It was so cute! And Elle was the sweetest with Peter, helping him get from one place to the next.

We all take turns cooking different meals. Which is actually really nice.

Early morning snuggles with Molly.

Early morning screen playing with cousins.

Tim and I got to go on a really nice early morning walk without our kids.

Breakfast!! Baked French toast.

Shoulder ride!

How stinkin' cute is this kid?!?! He's "hiding" during kick the can.

Sucker twins!

Bocce ball!

Molly hanging out watching the kids play down at the creek.

We decided to drive to Butterfly Garden Inn instead of walk this go around. Look at all these cuties lined up in a row.

These three boys and their screens....cringe. But they are so cute together.

Missionary tag.

Early morning yawns and hugs.

Crepes....a cabin breakfast staple.

Do you love your neighbor. The kids loved playing!! Piper would say, "do you love your parents" when it was her turn which was adorable!

We loved having Logan with us for the weekend

Lunch time! Can you tell we eat a lot at the cabin?!?

Exploring West Fork

Love these three kids so much!

We had so much fun exploring that we decided to go back the next day in our water clothes so we could get wet.

Family hike!! Molly looks so over it, but she was seriously the most well behaved baby!

Oliver and Peter asked to sleep together on the top bunkbed. So sweet!

The five of us woke up early on Monday morning and hiked up to Thomas Point. It was a great hike!

The views facing both directions are beautiful!

I mean, that view is impressive!

Oliver was being very chivalrous and went to get Piper's shoe for her and he ended up totally slipping into the water which freaked him out, sweet boy!

Olivers got some great faces.

Rocks!!

Moss

My boys!

Of course Oliver put this on his head, hahaha!! It looks like one of those fancy hats that Princess Kate wears. I was dying!

Peter was inspired by his brother.

More moss

Look at all this kids faces...

He's just....

Cute and funny!!

Cousins getting ready to explore.

Playing in the creek.

Peter was super happy to find a sand bank to play on.

He was also very impressed with his bridge.

He did not love the "water slide" though.

Such a great weekend!! And I'm really looking forward to our next cabin adventure!
