Another Labor Day at the Cabin

We spent the weekend at the cabin. It was pretty great! Tim and I drove up with the boys Friday morning. Tim drove back home Friday night to work early Saturday morning and then came back up after work Saturday evening and then we came home Sunday night because Tim had to work on Monday. It was a lot of driving for Tim, but we had a really good time. There is nothing like escaping this awful heat at the end of the summer when every other part of the country is cooling down and we are maintaining our triple digits. The weather up there was perfect and even cold enough in the mornings to warrant a fire (in our warm blooded fire deprived opinions). My entire family was able to make it up there for Saturday and Sunday. We have such a good time together and the kids were in HEAVEN!!! I'm hoping we can get back up one more time this fall to experience some real fall weather. The cabin is just kind of the best!

Oliver helping grandpa sand down the swollen door jams.

That right there is a big fresh pile of bear poop. Right in the middle of the road. Right next to the cabin. That's right people, hide yo kids, hide yo wives, and hide yo husbands 'cause we got a bear up in here! I mean seriously though kind of cool and kind of scary. A neighbor saw the bear early in the morning while we were there!

Peter going for a ride. The kid has a DEATH GRIP and I'm pretty sure my dad's scalp was sore the rest of the weekend ;)

Look at my big boy with his stick!! When did he get so old looking?

Rhett!! Later that day he had mud smudged on his face and he totally looked like a lost boy.

Cousins!!

Making a "secret potion"

Grandpa sharing his steak with Peter. No joke! Peter just sucked the juice right out if it. He was loving every second.

The cabin is all about the mud and dirt!

My mom's cousin and his kids were up there (the same ones from the 4th of July). Our kids LOVE their kids and they play so nice together. It's pretty great!

No words!

Peter finally got to really explore grass for the first time. He's been deprived because of the heat. He was a fan of the grass and the out door roaming.

Popsicle party!

These two! I have high hopes for them to be little besties! Their names are too perfect for them to not. Peter and Piper

Volleyball in the lawn.

A family walk to the crossing.

This picture just makes me so happy. I've been feeling so much gratitude lately for my little family. It is a lot of hard work but looking at pictures of it makes it totally worth it. We are doing it. We are working hard and having fun and doing our best.

The boys and their lap tops.

One of our neighbors has a pretty legit garden and this awesome pumpkin was growing.

Cute cousins!

A little forrest playground

They love it!!

It was such an awesome weekend! And totally worth all the work (having a 3 yr old and a 10 month old at the cabin where there is rat poison (for the rats, ew) and big stairs and uneven ground and bears and only one parent half the time and people need to be fed and and and and is a lot of work, but seriously, totally worth it!).
