Juicing Season and Candy Rock

It's February and that means that it's time to start picking and juicing the oranges from our orange tree in the front. Our tree produces the yummiest juicing oranges (they are too meaty to just eat). We started out this year with a new juicer. I think last year we burned through like 5. No joke. The motors are just kind of wimpy. We've juiced about 4 gallons so far and this new one seems to be holding on ok which is a good sign. It's so fun to give the juice away. Especially to my sweet Grandpa who thinks it's one of the best things in the world. He calls it liquid gold (right up there with breast milk I guess :).  Anyway, we'll be working on picking and juicing for the next couple of weeks. I'm pretty happy to be more involved this year than in past years. I am fully committed to making sure that our fridge always has a full pitcher of fresh OJ. Yum!!

There's a fun tradition that some of my in-laws do in Pine Valley at Tim's parents cabin. A parent will hide candy behind a specific rock and then the kids will take a walk to "candy rock" and magically find candy there. How great that a rock can produce candy?!?!? So Tim started that little tradition with our boys. He'll hide candy behind a rock at the end of our street and the boys love to find treats there. We have friends and little cousins that are now familiar with this little tradition and so they ask to go to candy rock when they visit. It's pretty cute. I took the boys there last Friday with Rhett and Max and got some pretty great pictures.

The progression here is so great:
He's just so happy he has a sucker!

I mean, so happy!

He's getting ready to put it in his mouth.

Reveling in the taste.

And down to business. Straight faced with a fist around the stick. This is serious stuff this sucker eating.

And then you have these yahoos:
They just look like they're up to no good

My sister posted this one on instagram and put #suckersnotsigs and I died laughing. So funny!

It's the little things in life right?? Carpe Diem!
