Two years ago my family took notice to the fact that Winter Solstice was approaching and for some reason we decided that would be a perfect excuse for a family dinner (any reason to spend more time together). So my mom fixed us a delicious turkey dinner just days before Christmas. It was a fun evening. Last year we were adventuring up North at the "Polar Express" during winter solstice so we didn't have a formal dinner. This year we decided to pick the tradition up where we left off with two adjustments. One, black and white attire was mandatory and two, instead of my mom making a turkey dinner right before Christmas, everyone brought two appetizers to share. It was a fun night and a fun tradition. I kind of love the randomness of it and that its ours.

All the girls in Black and White.
Nose scrunching with my little nose scruncher.
A peak at some of the appetizers. Tim made the meatballs and I made the bruschetta. There was also mozzarella sticks, shrimp, spinach artichoke dip and chili chicken poppers.
My mom even put white centerpieces on the table!! I love that woman and LOVE love love that she very generously hosts us all the time but even more so over the holidays.
Make a silly (more like creepy) face..... I love these crazies!
Claire stayed at home with Piper and Cooper, who was sick. Cody was taking the picture (he was not in black and white) and Max who was also not in black and white is running around in the back somewhere. Clearly we were down to business with this black and white dress code.
